Hi long time since I last blogged. Well Promos are next week and I'm leaving my fate to big Jesus Christ above... Not that I have not been studying... In fact I've been hitting the books like I did during O levels. But I'm still behind in Geog and Chem.. Really worried. Well worse comes to worse I guess I'll have to pack my bags and head to poly. You'll have to clap me in chains to make me retain another year in JC...

Anyway I'm not sure if its just me being paranoid but I'm starting to realise I've been getting a cold shoulder treatment from a certain section of the class for the past few weeks... I've been thinking about it for the past few days but can't recall anything that might have sparked this off. I wish that I could get an explanation. If the people who are somewhat pissed off are reading this, I'm sorry for whatever I did and you should know that I don't mean it.

Been really long since I last blog in fact too long... A lot has been going on... especially for studies. Stayed back with the guys and gals for night studies which last from 7-10... Not that I'm complaining... the environment is wonderful and its great to study with these great people whom you can ask questions when in doubt... The supper was good also haha.

So yeah been quite busy these few weeks... Apologies to people who checked my blog but have seen no new posts for the last few weeks... Well next week there is pekan sukan!!! Tennis Competition!!! I'm playing doubles with Brandon... Hope we can at least go through to the next round. Our draw looks good.. at least we managed to avoid facing ranked doubles. If anybody wants to come down to support... feel free... Haha its at Kallang Tennis Courts, Thurday, 1845. I need all the support I can get.

Well... today's teacher's day so Happy Teacher's Day to all teachers. There was a performace in the morning... Was pretty good... especially liked the guy who sang I'm yours. That was really awesome. It was half day so I went back to SJI to see da teachers and meet up with former classmates. Great seeing all those familiar faces after so long. After that I went over to Waldron's place with nick to play tennis for about 2 hrs. Free loaded on Wald's 100 plus... hehe... Hung around his kovan melody condo watching MTV... Then went to dhoby ghaut food courts for dinner, hung around a little more then came back.

Was sick for the past few days... Hated and wasted every minute of it. But what to do... thats life... Ups and downs... Started on Wednesday... actually much earlier except i just ignored it because I thought it wasn't so serious.... Anyway yeah felt like a dead fish the whole day and everyone started asking why I look so dead... Well I've actually been dead the whole week not feeling well... noticed i was not talking as much as usual... Anyway yeah from my obvious "unwellness", I should have gone home... instead I still went for training... BIG MISTAKE!!! Once I stepped onto the courts and started hitting a few practice shots with Regen, it did not take long before I actually felt how dying is.... Had to crawl off the court and tell my coach that I'm not feeling well... Sympathetic coach told me to rest and asked me if I wanna go home... Yet I was still stubborn and said I would rest for a while and if I felt better later I would join in... Well I rested... and about 5 went in to practise some low intensity volleys... By the end of the session I was dead... literally.... My chest hurt like crazy and my head was spinning... Ok moral of the story...Please don't follow my example and go for training when your really sick... you will just feel like dying.:) Just a tip Haha

Anyway my mum brought me to see the family doctor afterwards and surprise surprise guess what my temperature was? 39.9 degrees!!! Thats seriously sizzling hot... And besides that I had a severe sore throat and cold and a lot of phlegm... The doctor suspected influeza and said if the fever did not come down by friday... I had to do a blood test... i was worried yeah... I mean tons of people die from influenza each year and I don't want to add to the number... I'm too young to die....

Well thank god the fever subsided but not after I went through 2 rounds of my mum's "traditional" ice baths with near 0 degrees ice. I'm telling you... the feeling is like being born again... I nearly cried and I think I screamed throughout my whole ordeal... Never want that again... Next time I think I will stick with blankets....

Anyway I gotta go and thanks a lot to all my well wishers and those who called to ask me how I am... Really appreciate it guys... Tons of schoolwork to catch up with..... Damn who ask me

Been a while since I last posted and Sheryl has been practically begging me to post something... (Yes I know this blog's the best... Haha just kidding) Well I was tempted to post something like "Hi I'm posting this and its really lame Bye" but I realised THIS BLOG DESERVES MORE!!!! I mean it doesn't deserve something as lame as that... neither does it deserve a smiley face... a cringe... a groan or the standard dotz or diao as post.... So yep there you go.

Ok for those who have noticed that I changed my skin... Good job and rock on! But for those who haven't... Seriously get a life dudes!!!! Well... Faber Drive is probably one of the hottest bands right now... and especially for the song Tongue-tied, it can't get any hotter than that... For all those no lifers out there who haven't heard the song, I have put a video... courtesy of YouTube somewhere... below there.... Haha..:p

Ok Friday was NDP celebrations and it was really fun. My class decided to get into the festive mood and so I brought 2 cans of hair spray... Red and white( well the white didn't really look like white... looked more like pink... but heck)... I'm not really proud to say that I was the pioneer to try out the sprays... ZJ insisting on me becoming the "test subject" WTH... Besides the sprays there was paint too and Yee Ann really did his stuff and painted some awesonme "arm" paintings for us... Thanks a lot mate! Then there was the walk from CJC to CCAB... Well I must say with the hair spray and paint we really looked like a mob of gangsters who just got relesed from Whitley Detention Centre... Haha...

Well after the celebrations at CCAB... my class decided to head over to Beauty World for a vegetarian lunch... unfortunately... I had dental and was gonna meet up with my secondary school friends for pool... So sadly... I couldn't join them... But I hung around at CCAB for a while and played soccer on the basketball court. The team I was on won 3 matches in a row and I'm proud to say I scored 3 goals including a spectacular drive which hit the interior of the baskeball net post and went in... and there was a keeper standing in between the posts too... hehe:p...

Well after that I headed down with Kumz and Nick via taxi to eat roti prata at Upper Thompson Road. But guess what? The taxi driver thought we meant the Old Upper Thompson Road roti prata shop near lower seletar reservoir and so took us there... In the end we had to cough up about 7 bucks worth of taxi fare and i was unable to go for my dental already... In the end I went over to Kumz place, showered and then we went down to Meridian to join Waldron and Jon Cham... Hmmm good thing my pool skills haven't deproved and yep I once again saw off nicklaus challenge to beat me... Better luck next time mate...:p

Ok National Day's next week so yeah its 3 days of hols!!!! And holidays= going out... slacking and of course TENNIS!!! I can't tell you how much I love Singapore during this time...(although I'm American.... Haha)

I seriously have a love hate relationship with Singapore... At times when things don't go my way and I feel very stressed out cos of school, school and school ... I blame Singapore. I mean I sometimes can't really understand how my life got screwed up so much. I was supposed to be in America enjoying "the good life" and my constitution rights, but instead right now... i'm somehow tangled up, messed up(and every word you can think of being screwed up) with Singapore. You know sometimes I wonder what could have... would have and should have been my life if I never had a Singaporean mum. Well for one thing... I will be enjoying my summer holidays, lying on a Hawaiian beach soaking up the sun.. Probably own a car and would have dated 12 different girls already... (Haha just kidding)

However after spending such a long time in Singapore, I have realised my heart will be and will always be here. This is the place where I grew up and of course I have many fond memories. My primary and secondary school lives were awesome... I met many friends who have touched my life and will continue to touch it for a long time to come. And by the looks of my JC life... it can only get better and better. Furthermore, it was Singapore who introduced me to my passion and life... Tennis. I will never know in this lifetime if I would have played tennis if I was living in the States or whether I would have been a better player. But for now i'm grateful to the life that Singapore has given me.

The next link to the food cycle... How about we say the poverty cycle? In this modern world, there is the classic scenario of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. You know I have never thought about this situation until this year when I was tasked with the exploration of poverty in my PW project.

The more fortunate ones like us are able to have food on the table for every meal and not needing worry where our next meal comes from. On the other hand the less fortunate ones have to fight for a living almost everyday and work countless of hours under the sun just to earn a few cents. Isn't a situation unfair and unjust?

Despite Singapore being a close to developed country, they are still people out there who are in this state. Just this morning, on the way to visit my orthodonthist in Orchard, I couldn't help but notice a larger than usual number of old men and disabled people selling tissue packets and entertaining respectively. The sight gave me a guilty feeling which in turn prompted me to post. Here I am, being one of the more fortunate people, living my life in absolute comfort and luxury and there are people out there who struggle to make a living. I doubt I would be able to bear the torment and shame if I were in their shoes...

Haha I think I might be getting a little sensitive around here... So I'm gonna sign off here...

You know sometimes I wonder about those Hollywood film makers... I mean why do they have to produce all the nice movies at a time when I can hardly spare the time to watch them? Really there are about 3 or 4 good movies out there worth watching but because of preparations for Promos... I can't get out of the house... Seriously they should have released these movies in June... The kids in America are already on summer vacation so whats the harm? Their box office won't suffer a bit...
